Steps to Enter Malaysia as a Business Traveller

Malaysia, as an open trading nation is not spared from the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on productivity, supply chains and growth plans of many businesses. As the country battles to contain the pandemic and employs movement restriction measures, a strategic solution is necessary to enable business travellers to enter the country in line with efforts to minimise disruptions to the economy and revitalise trade and investment into Malaysia.

Travel processes will be frequently updated in response to the evolving pandemic situation. Hence, a One Stop Centre (OSC) was established to ease the movement of business travellers by expediting the approval of their entry to do business in Malaysia, while prioritising public health, livelihoods and economic sustainability. It comprises representatives from the Immigration Department of Malaysia, Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) and Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). With the combined efforts of this taskforce, the Government is committed to enabling business continuity while safeguarding public safety.

The OSC provides a Fast Track approval mechanism to facilitate the ease of doing business. To be eligible for this fast-track option, business travellers will need to adhere to the necessary requirements and submit their Entry Permission application to the OSC via MyEntry or MyTravelPass in not less than 14 working days before departure.

The OSC caters to business travellers from all economic sectors that are entering Malaysia for a short-term stay (14 days or less) or a long-term stay (more than 14 days).
