On 27 May 2025, the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of Malaysia in Chile received Ms. Alicia Reyes, Head of International Affairs at the Association of Industrialists of Antofagasta (AIA), and Ms. María de los Ángeles Cavieres from Asia Consulting at the Embassy of Malaysia in Santiago.
The meeting focused on exploring Malaysia’s potential participation in EXPONOR 2026, one of the region’s most prominent mining and industrial exhibitions. Discussions also covered opportunities for collaboration in the areas of mining, industrial innovation, and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through AIA’s training institutions in Antofagasta.
