Procedures for Travellers Entering Malaysia from 1 April 2022 (Updated on 30 July 2022)

 
(Updated on 30 July 2022 - From 1 August 2022, the Pre-Departure Form and Traveller's Card in the MySejahtera App are no longer required for travellers entering Malaysia)
 
Effective 1 April 2022, in transitioning to the endemic phase of Covid-19, Malaysia's national borders will be "reopened". Find out more below.
 
ENTRY ELIGIBILITY
 
• Malaysians may enter Malaysia without prior approval from the Malaysian authorities.
 
• Effective 1 April 2022, non-Malaysians may enter Malaysia without prior approval from the Malaysian authorities (i.e. MyTravelPass / MyEntry not required).
 
• Hong Kong and Macau passport holders may enter Malaysia visa-free for up to 30 days. For visa requirements for foreign nationals, see: https://bit.ly/3J3JMQN. For visa enquiries, contact our immigration section at hongkong@imi.gov.my
 
BEFORE DEPARTURE
 
• Download and activate the MySejahtera App (https://mysejahtera.malaysia.gov.my/intro_en/) at least one week before departure to Malaysia.
 
• For Foreign Vaccination Records, upload your details under “Overseas Vaccination Details” in the “Traveller” icon in the MySejahtera App before departure to Malaysia. See also: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=362844222521967&set=a.362246532581736
 
• Fully vaccinated travellers aged 18 years and above are exempted from quarantine and the pre-departure test. Persons 17 years of age and below as well as travellers with previous Covid-19 infection (6 – 60 days before departure) are exempted from quarantine and the pre-departure test regardless of vaccination status.
 
• Partially vaccinated / un-vaccinated travellers are required to present a Negative PCR or RTK-AG Professional test result (taken within 48 hours of departure to Malaysia).
 
• Effective 1 May 2022, Covid-19 insurance is no longer required for all travellers entering Malaysia.
 
UPON ARRIVAL
 
• Fully vaccinated travellers aged 18 years and above are exempted from the on-arrival test. Persons 17 years of age and below as well as travellers with previous Covid-19 infection (6 – 60 days before departure) are also exempted from the on-arrival test regardless of vaccination status.
 
• Partially vaccinated / un-vaccinated travellers are required to undergo a supervised RTK-AG test within 24 hours of arrival in Malaysia. Test can be done at any health facility of choice. • Travellers who are partially vaccinated / unvaccinated are required to undergo 5 days quarantine at their place of residence. See: https://www.mysafetravel.gov.my/quarantine-upon-arrival Travellers who are not vaccinated due to medical reasons are required to present proof of medical exemption from vaccination and a decision on quarantine-exemption will be made on a case-by-case basis.
