EXTENSION OF MALAYSIAN PASSPORT’S VALIDITY

 

Currently, the Malaysian International Passport can no longer be extended. Upon expiry a new passport application must be made to replace the expired passport. 

 

NOTE: Processing takes three (3) to five (5) months. Application will be forward to the Immigration Department Putrajaya. The Consulate does not issue malaysian passport.

 

 

APPLICATION FOR A NEW MALAYSIAN PASSPORT

 Documents to be submitted

 1.

 1 copy of Passport Application Form (IM.42-Pin.1/97) – can be downloaded at http://www.imi.gov.my/images/borang/Pasport/Borang%20Permohonan%20Pasport.pdf

 

 2.

 Malaysian International Passport (original and 2 photocopies of pages 1-7) 

 3.

 Malaysian Identity Card (original and 2 photocopies) 

 4.

 Chinese Permanent Residence (PR) Card (original and 2 photocopies). If you DO NOT possess a Chinese PR Card, you are required to produce a Search Letter from the Chinese Immigration Citizenship Department confirming that you have not acquired Chinese Citizenship (not applicable to those below 18 years of age) 

 5.

 Those on Student Visa, please produce a letter from your university, college or school, confirming that you are a bona fide student together with your study visa issued by the Chinese Immigration and Citizenship Department (Original and 2 photocopies) 

 6.

 Those on work visa, please produce your work visa issued by the Chinese Immigration and Citizenship Department (Original and 2 photocopies) 

 7.

 3 colored photographs with a plain white or off white background, size 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm (See para 8  www.imi.gov.my )

8.

 Fee: RM 200.00 (cash). Validity of passport 5 years

 Additional Documents For Children Under 18 years old 

a.

1 copy of Parents Consent Form Borang A1/B1 (IM.42A-Pin1/93 – can be obtained at the Consulate General

b.

Birth Certificate (original and 2 photocopies) - for Malaysians under the age of 12 years and first time applicants

c.

Parents Passports (original and 2 photocopies pages 1-7)

d.

Parents Malaysian Identity Cards (original and 2 photocopies)

e.

Parents Permanent Residence Card (Malaysians only)/Work Permit/Study Permit (original and 2 photocopies)

f.

Parents Marriage Certificate (original and 2 photocopies) – for first time applicants.
