"SILKEN LINEAGE, SOUTHERN VISIONS" SOUTHEAST ASIA CULTURAL EVENT
On 9 May 2025, the Consulate General of Malaysia had an opportunity to meet with the top management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), led by the Deputy Chairperson of the SJTU Committee, Mr. Zhao Xin.
The meeting was part of the "Silken Lineage, Southern Visions" Southeast Asia cultural event organized by SJTU as an initiative to foster cultural exchange between China and Southeast Asian countries. The event was also attended by representatives from the Consulates General of Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore.
Both sides had a fruitful discussion particularly on ongoing and potential collaboration between SJTU and academic institutions in ASEAN countries. Guests were then brought to tour the Southeast Asian cultural exhibitions and student booths, including the one set up by Malaysian Student Council, which offers various types of Malaysian food and products.
Guests were also presented with cultural performances by SJTU students from ASEAN countries
