On 13 January 2026, the Consul General of Malaysia in Shanghai, Mr. Mohd Shahafeez Shaharis received a courtesy call from the Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) of Anhui Provincial People’s Government, Mr. Peng Chuanwu.
During the meeting, DDG Peng briefed the Consul General on the upcoming 2026 RCEP Local Governments and Friendship Cities Cooperation (Huangshan) Forum scheduled for May. Both parties further discussed potential cooperation between Malaysia and Anhui in various areas of interest under the RCEP framework.
