CULTURAL VISIT IN HUZHOU
At the sidelines of the 3rd ASEAN-China Conference on Sustainable Development Cooperation, guests were brought to visit “Huzhou-Nanxun Craftmanship: ASEAN Charm” International Commodity Fair on 12 May 2025 at Yide Square, Nanxun Ancient Town. A number of ASEAN companies including Malaysia participated at the fair to promote Southeast Asian products in the local market.
Guests also had an opportunity to visit Shanlian Hu Brush Town, where the Huzhou brush originated from, and learned about the art and production of the writing brush, which is known as one of the Chinese Four Treasures of the Study. During the tour at Digang Ancient Town, guests were introduced to the local silk, fishery, mulberry and tea industries. They also experienced the production process of Dingsheng cake, Huzhou’s traditional delicacy.
At night, they listened to “Huzhou-ASEAN Friendship Spring” Konghou Concert at Huzhou University. The concert featured Professor Cui Junzhi, the founder of Chinese modern konghou performance art.
