CG JOINS 9TH HANGZHOU INTERNATIONAL DAY

Consul General, Mr. Abdullah Ma'amor Ibrahim attended the Opening Ceremony of the 9th Hangzhou International Day on 5 September 2026 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province at the invitation of the city's Foreign Affairs Office (FAO).

The event was addressed by Mr. Liu Fei, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee, who outlined the city's achievements and vision for AI innovation leadership.

On the sidelines of the event, the Consul General visited the BCI Science Innovation & Demo Center and the Spatial Computing Experience Center, where he and other guests were briefed on cutting-edge technologies and experienced the real-world applications by leading local innovators, including BrainCo and Rokid.

He also engaged with local enterprises keen to expand their footprint in Malaysia, including PingPong Payments, during a business networking session.  Wrapping up the visit, the Consul General in media interviews expressed optimism for deeper cooperation between Malaysia and Zhejiang, particularly in AI, digital economy and technological innovation.
