Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Mohd Shahafeez Shaharis graced the Opening Ceremony of the Malaysian Food Festival at Yindu Hotel in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province. The event was jointly organized by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai, the Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) of the Yiwu Municipal People’s Government and the Zhejiang China Commodity City Group Co., Ltd.
Under the theme “Exotic Charm & Malaysian Food,” the festival showcased Malaysian food culture, folk art and lifestyle aesthetics to promote cultural exchanges in line with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.
During the visit, Consul General paid a courtesy call on the Vice Mayor of Yiwu City, Mr. Tang Tang. Their discussion focused on enhancing trade and investment activities between Malaysia and China, particularly with Zhejiang Province and Yiwu City.
Additionally, Consul General toured the Yiwu International Trade City and met with representatives from the Yiwu Cultural Products Association Industry Association. He also visited the Global Digital Trade Center to engage with the Yiwu IP Industry Association, and concluded his visit by meeting with members of the Malaysian diaspora residing in Yiwu.
