PETRONAS Welcomes Two New LNG Carriers in Shanghai

On 2 September 2026, Consul General, Mr. Abdullah Ma'amor Ibrahim attended the naming ceremony for two new Petronas LNG carriers at Hudong-Zhonghua shipyard.

The vessels were officially named Puteri Kelantan and Puteri Negeri Sembilan by Lady Sponsor Ms. Haslawani Mohd Izazi, wife of the Vice President of Petronas LNG Marketing & Trading, Mr. Ezran Mahadzir.

The ceremony was also attended by Petronas officials, together with representatives from Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd (K-Line) and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group).

The two new carriers will deliver LNG to China under Petronas’ long-term commitments, supporting the country’s growing energy demand and further strengthening Malaysia’s role as a reliable energy partner.
