19 June 2025 -  Mr. Lum Wan Liang, the Consul General of Malaysia in Xi’an, attended and delivered a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 6th Western China Digital Economy Expo. The event took place from 19 – 21 June 2025, at the Xi’an International Convention Center. Hosted by the Xi’an Municipal People’s Government and organized by the Xi’an Municipal Bureau of Data, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xi’an Municipal People’s Government, and other entities, the expo is the largest and most influential event focused on the digital economy in Northwest China. It serves as a vital platform for showcasing achievements, facilitating technological innovation exchanges, and promoting industrial cooperation.

As a national central city in China and the core city of the Northwest region, Xi’an is not only the starting point of the ancient Silk Road—a city rich in history, culture, and traditions of economic exchange—but also a hub with unique advantages in the digital economy. With its abundant educational and scientific resources, profound cultural heritage, solid industrial foundation, and strategic geographical location, Xi’an holds strong international competitiveness and vast potential for development.
