On the evening of October 22, 2025, the Consulate General held a Deepavali Celebration at the Dehli Darbar Indian Restaurant. This event brought together Malaysians, including expatriates and students in Shaanxi, to celebrate the festival and enjoy Indian food in a lively atmosphere. Deepavali, or the Festival of Lights, is an important Hindu festival that represents the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. During this festival, people light oil lamps, decorate their homes, exchange gifts, and share festive meals with family and friends. In 2025, Deepavali falls on October 20.

By joining the Deepavali festivities, Malaysian expatriates celebrated traditional customs and showed their respect for different cultures. The event encouraged understanding among various ethnic and religious groups, strengthened community ties, and highlighted the value of diversity.
