Discover ASEAN in Xi'an

On 15 August, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Xi’an hosted an ASEAN-themed exhibition at Capitaland Mall Yujincheng. The event showcased the diverse cultures of ASEAN, allowing people in Xi’an to experience the region without traveling. With support from various local offices, a highlight of the exhibition was the “ASEAN Passport,” where visitors could collect ASEAN dolls character stamps from each ASEAN member state, providing a fun and educational experience, especially for families.

Consul General Mr. Lum Wan Liang and CGM team engaged with attendees, sharing stories about ASEAN cultures and strengthening understanding of ASEAN-China relations. Many participants praised the event as a creative way to learn about ASEAN. The exhibition was significant as Malaysia will chair ASEAN in 2025, and it was organized to celebrate ASEAN Day on 8 August. This year’s theme is “Towards an Inclusive & Sustainable ASEAN Future,” emphasizing ASEAN’s unity, diversity, and values. The event also highlighted the strong cooperation between ASEAN and China in trade, education, and cultural exchange. As chair, Malaysia aims to promote unity and deepen collaboration between ASEAN and China.
