Malaysia’s 68th National Day and 62nd Malaysia Day

On the evening of September 12, 2025, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Xi’an hosted a reception at the Shangri-La Hotel to celebrate Malaysia’s 68th National Day and 62nd Malaysia Day. Consul General Lum Wan Liang welcomed the attendees, which included officials from the Chinese government, representatives from various countries, and about 350 guests, including Malaysian diaspora and students. The event started with the national anthems of Malaysia and China, followed by speeches emphasizing the strong relationship between Malaysia and China. Consul General Lum highlighted Malaysia's desire for deeper cooperation in sectors like the digital economy and tourism, especially with the upcoming Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

The evening featured vibrant cultural performances by the BAYU dance troupe from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), showcasing traditional dances and songs, which were well-received by the audience. Guests also enjoyed authentic Malaysian cuisine, including a durian tasting. Overall, the reception celebrated Malaysia’s National Day while reinforcing the friendship between Malaysia and China, setting a positive tone for future collaborations and cultural exchanges.
