CEREMONY FOR HANDING OVER MEDICAL MASKS DONATED BY THE XI’AN NEW SILK ROAD ASSOCIATION FOR THE PROMOTION OF INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION OF CHINA, 5 MA
On 5 May 2020, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Xi’an received a batch of medical supplies for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia, which was donated by members of the Xi’an New Silk Road Association for the Promotion of International Communication. The medical supplies included N95 medical protective masks and 3-Ply disposable surgical/medical masks, totalling 31,490 pieces.
The masks were handed over to the Consul General by Ms. Wang Yunzhen, Director of the Xi’an New Silk Road Association for the Promotion of International Communication. Mr. Cao Hui, Vice President of Shaanxi Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Mr. Wang Xusheng, Director of Department of Rights and Interests of Shaanxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Mr. Xiao Wangming, Vice Chairman of Xi’an Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, were among the attendees present at the ceremony.
Consul General, on behalf of the Government and people of Malaysia, expressed his gratitude to the Xi’an New Silk Road Association for the Promotion of International Communication for its generous donation to Malaysia. Malaysia and China have a long standing friendship and both are important strategic partners. During China’s efforts in combating COVID-19 epidemic in early 2020, the Malaysian Government and people have provided timely assistance to their Chinese counterparts and friends, while the Chinese side has provided various contribution of medical supplies and equipment to Malaysia after the situation in China has been brought under control. It is a testament of the strong friendship between the two countries during this challenging time. The two sides are confident that under the concerted efforts, the two countries will finally overcome the menace of the pandemic.
