1.    PASSPORT RENEWAL

 

In accordance with the current Immigration rules and regulations, the validity of a Malaysian passport is no longer extendable. In this regards, a new passport application must be made to replace the soon to be expired passport (at least six (6) months before the expiry date).

 

Application for a new Malaysian Passport must be made in person at :

1 set of Passport Application Form (IM.42-Pin.1/97) – can be downloaded at www.imi.gov.my or can be obtained at the Consulate General office.

2.

Malaysian International Passport (original and 2 photocopies of front page) with validity of at least 6 months before the expiry date.

3.

Malaysian Identity Card (original and 2 photocopies)

4.

For applicants who is self-employed or employed by a local company, please produce your work visa issued by the Chinese Exit and Entry Department (Original and 2 photocopies)

5.

For applicants who is studying, please produce a letter from your university, college or school, confirming that you are a bona fide student together with your student visa issued by the Chinese Exit and Entry Department (Original and 2 photocopies)

6.

3 colour photographs with a white background, size 3.5 cm x 5.0 cm

7.

Fee: RMB 400.00 (cash). Validity of passport 5 years.

8.

Additional Documents For Children Under 18 years old :-

a.    Birth Certificate (original and 2 photocopies) - for Malaysians under the age of 12 years.

b.    Parents’ Passports (original and 2 photocopies of front pages)

c.    Parents’ Malaysian Identity Cards (original and 2 photocopies)

d.    Parents’ Permanent Residence Card (Malaysians only)/Work Permit/Study Permit (original and 2 photocopies)

e.    Parents’ Marriage Certificate (original and 2 photocopies)

 

 

Note : Processing period takes three (3) to five (5) months.

 

 

 

 

2.    LOSS OF MALAYSIAN INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT

 

Report of the lost must be made in person immediately after lodging an official report with the local authorities at :

3.    APPLICATION FOR EMERGENCY CERTIFICATE

 

An emergency certificate is a travel document issued to a Malaysian who wants to travel due to loss of passport/expiry of passport to Malaysia only (one way journey).

Additional Documents For Children Under 18 years old and new born baby :-

a.    Birth Certificate (original and 2 photocopies) - for Malaysians under the age of 12 years. If the Birth Certificate is issued in China, it must be translated to English and must be notarized by a notary public/lawyer in China followed by an authentication from the Consular Department, Foreign Affairs Office, Shaanxi Province.

b.    Parents’ Passports (original and 2 photocopies of front pages)

c.    Parents’ Malaysian Identity Cards (original and 2 photocopies)

An Emergency Certificates is not a passport and it is solely used to facilitate the holder to return to Malaysia only.
