MALAYSIA GOURMET FESTIVAL SHANGRI-LA XIAN
The Malaysian Consulate in collaboration with Shangri-La Xi’an launched a vibrant week-long Malaysia Gourmet Festival on 28 August 2026, celebrating Malaysia’s rich culinary and cultural heritage.
Led by Mr. Edwin Lee and his team, reimagined Malaysian favourite delicacies such as the deconstructed Nasi Lemak in sushi style, Satay as a quiche, Rendang as a burger, mini-Curry Laksa and innovative desserts like Cendol Durian and Durian Crepe, blending tradition with modern artistry.
This immersive experience spanning from 28 August to 4 September 2026, not only showcases Malaysia’s diverse flavours but also told stories of resilience, heritage, and friendship, echoing centuries of exchange along historic spice trade routes. A true celebration of Malaysia’s vibrant identity, fostering cultural appreciation and strengthening bonds with China.
