Berlin ASEAN Committee’s Chairmanship Handed Over to the Philippines
After taking over the helm of the Berlin ASEAN Committee (BAC) from Malaysia in July 2016, it is time for Myanmar to pass the baton to the next Chair. As stipulated in the Rules of Procedure for the ASEAN Committees in Third Countries and International Organisations, chairmanship of ASEAN committees will be rotated amongst ASEAN embassies every 6 months, based on alphabetical order of ASEAN countries’ names.
The handover was preceded by a BAC meeting, where Ambassadors discussed upcoming BAC activities. The Committee also bid farewell to one of its members, Ambassador of Cambodia H.E. Thai Chun, who will soon be completing his tour of duty in Berlin.
