Berlin Immigration Office General Decree of 24th March 2020
On 24th March 2020 Berlin Immigration Office issued a general decree.
This stipulates that certain people will be granted an extended three-month period in which to leave Germany without the need to undertake anything.
If your Schengen visa expires between 18th March 2020 and 17th June 2020, then a three-month extension of the deadline for leaving Germany will be granted automatically. The three-month extension commences on the date of expiry of your visa. This applies on the condition that at the time of expiry you are indeed in Berlin and will remain here until you leave Germany.
