AT THE

25^TH DAYS OF ASTRONAUTICS NEUBRANDENBURG

On Friday, 11 September 2009 the organisers of the 25^th Days of Astronautics Neubrandenburg organised a Colours of Malaysia Evening to honour Malaysia?s achievement in space as well as in honour of Dr. Syeikh Muszaphar Al Masrie?s participation at the 25^th Days of Astronautics Neubrandenburg. H.E. Datuk Zakaria Sulung, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Federal Republic of Germany and Datin Hazizah Ahmad as well as members of the Embassy were invited to celebrate the special evening.

 

The Days of Astronautics, an event which is organized annually for the past 25 years by voluntary members of the Initiative 2000+ which gives opportunity of space enthusiasts from all over Germany and Europe to have discussions and exchange of views on the latest on space exploration and issues. This year's event saw the participation of Malaysian ANGKASAWAN, Dr. Syeikh Muszaphar Al Masrie and Russian Cosmonaut, Mr. Mr. Valery Kubassov.

 

?The Colours of Malaysia Evening? started with welcoming remarks by Mr. Harald Walter, Vice-Mayor of the town of Neubrandenburg and followed by the opening remarks by H.E. Datuk Zakaria Sulong, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Germany. In his speech, Datuk Zakaria gave some insight on Malaysian achievements in space exploration particularly on the ANGKASAWAN Programme which is aimed to inspire Malaysians to attain greater success by embracing science and technology.

 

Guests were then treated to various Malaysian dishes prepared by local chefs which proved to be a hit among the German guests.
