Official Visit to Germany - Official Welcome Ceremony

YAB Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, was welcomed by his counterpart Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E Olaf Scholz in an Official Welcome Ceremony at the Federal Chancellery on 11 March 2024.
Subsequently, both leaders met and exchanged views on cooperative endeavors in the field of economy, climate change, renewable energy, and regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The engagements between the leadership of both countries today reflect the close-knit bond of friendship that has been established since 1957.
Germany is Malaysia's largest trading partner among the European Union member states since 2000, while Malaysia is the largest trading partner of Germany among ASEAN. In 2023, the value of Malaysia's trade with Germany increased by 5.9% to RM63.45 billion (USD13.90 billion) compared to RM59.87 billion (USD13.62 billion) in 2022.
