The 68th iENA (Ideas-Inventions-New Products) International Trade Fair, Nuremberg, Bavaria, 2 – 5 November 2017
The 68th iENA (Ideas-Inventions-New Products) International Trade Fair took place in Nuremberg, Bavaria from 2 – 5 November 2017. More than 800 inventions and new products were presented by approximately 500 inventors from more than 40 countries. As one of partner countries for this year, Malaysia was well represented by participants from various institutions of higher learning and agencies. Participants showcased their creativity, knowledge and research skills in creating innovations and inventions that would benefit the society, improve the quality of life and enhance the socio economic well-being of people.
Ambassador-designate Sarah Al Bakri Devadason witnessed the presentation of awards to the Malaysian participants including Dr. Zarina Yahya and Dr. Muhammad Mahyiddin Ramli; and Dr. Rafiza Abdul Razak of the Center of Excellence Geopolymer and Green Technology (CEGeoGTech), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) who won Gold and Silver Medals respectively for their remarkable inventions. The National Anti-drugs Agency of Malaysia also won two Gold Medals for their research in social sciences. Other institutions which took part and won the awards by iENA were Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Universiti Teknology MARA (UiTM); National University of Malaysia (UKM), University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). Their success and participation reaffirm Malaysia’s strong commitment and support for research and innovation activities.
