CONSULAR ADVICE FOR MALAYSIANS IN GERMANY

 

  1. Due to the current COVID-19 situation in Germany, Malaysians are advised to strictly monitor and observe the German Federal Government measures as follows:

 

i) avoid gatherings and crowded places (practise social distancing);

 

ii) work from home if possible;

 

iii) cease unnecessary visits to friends and relatives;

 

iv) the District Health Office should only be contacted when necessary. This will reduce the burden on workers. Advice can also be obtained online via Robert Koch Institute’s FAQs website;

     v) those with the most serious health conditions as well as senior citizens, citizens with pre-existing illnesses  must isolate themselves from social contact for 12 weeks;

 

    vi) if one person in any household has a persistent cough or fever, everyone in that household must self- isolate for 14 days;

 

  vii) schools and universities in Germany are closed until 19 April 2020.

 

2. There are no travel restrictions for Malaysians in Germany to travel to Malaysia. However, family members who are not citizens of Malaysia are only allowed to enter the country with a valid Social Visit Pass

    (Long Term) / Pas Lawatan Sosial Jangka Panjang.

 

    Students are advised to enquire in advance with the airlines on the availability of the tickets, travel restrictions and point of transit;

 

3. Malaysian are urged to register immediately with the Embassy in Berlin and Consulate General in Frankfurt am Main at:

          Please provide the following details:

                        i)          Full name as in your Identity Card

                        ii)         IC/Passport Number

                        iii)        Contact Number

                        iv)        Full address of place of residence in Germany
