PROCEDURES FOR TRAVELLERS ENTERING MALAYSIA FROM 1 APRIL 2022

Effective 1 April 2022, in transitioning to the endemic phase of Covid-19, Malaysia's national borders will be "reopened". Find out more details below.

ENTRY ELIGIBILITY

•           Malaysians may enter Malaysia without prior approval from the Malaysian authorities.

•           Effective 1 April 2022, non-Malaysians may enter Malaysia without prior approval                       from the Malaysian authorities (i.e. MyTravelPass / MyEntry not required).

BEFORE DEPARTURE

•           Download and activate the MySejahtera App (https://mysejahtera.malaysia.gov.my/intro_en/) before departure to Malaysia. Complete  the Pre-Departure Form in the “Traveller” icon in the MySejahtera App before departure to Malaysia.

•           For Foreign Vaccination Records, upload your details under “Overseas Vaccination Details” in the “Traveller” icon in the MySejahtera App five days before departure to Malaysia.

•           Fully vaccinated travellers will be issued a Digital Traveller’s Card. Partially vaccinated / un-vaccinated travellers will also be issued with a Home Surveillance Order (HSO). Fully  vaccinated travellers are exempted from quarantine. Persons 17 years of  age and below   are exempted from quarantine regardless of vaccination status.

•           Travellers aged 7 years and above are required to hold a Negative PCR test result (taken within 48 hours of departure to Malaysia).

•           Travellers with previous Covid-19 infection (6 – 60 days before departure) are required to hold a Negative RTK-AG test result (professionally taken within 48 hours of departure to Malaysia) (pre-departure PCR test not required).

•           Non-Malaysian travellers are required to purchase Travel and Covid-19 insurance to cover the duration of stay in Malaysia.

 

UPON ARRIVAL

•           Undergo a professional RTK-AG test within 24 hours of arrival in Malaysia. Test can be    done at any health facility of choice. Covid-19 breathalyzer OR professional RTK-AG tests are also available at the airport. Children aged 6 years and below are exempted from the on-arrival test.

•           Travellers who are partially vaccinated / unvaccinated are required to undergo 5 days quarantine at their place of residence. Travellers who are not vaccinated due to medical  reasons are required to present proof of medical exemption from vaccination and a   decision on quarantine-exemption will be made on a case-by-case basis.

•           From 1 April 2022, the following will be discontinued for travellers entering Malaysia:

o          MyTravelPass

o          Home Quarantine Applications

o          Langkawi International Travel Bubble

o          Digital Trackers for Quarantined persons

o          High-Risk Countries List

o          PCR test by MOH Malaysia at KLIA

  • MIDA OSC Programme
