D8 Ministerial Meeting on tourism held in Cairo
Malaysia shared its tourism strategy, which is anchored in sustainability and inclusivity, involving all levels of society at the D8 Ministerial Meeting on tourism held in Cairo. This approach reflects our commitment to ensuring that tourism growth benefits communities across the board, while preserving our natural and cultural heritage. Also took the opportunity to campaign for Visit Malaysia 2026, inviting fellow member countries to support and participate in making it a shared success. The meeting renewed and reinforced joint efforts and initiatives to enhance collaboration in promoting tourism as a driver of economic growth and employment. It emphasized the importance of leveraging AI technology to improve tourism services and experience. The D-8 also acknowledged the pivotal role of visa facilitation and connectivity, including initiatives to establish direct flights between member capitals, such as from Cairo to Kuala Lumpur, to further strengthen people-to-people exchange.
