Advancing ASEAN-Spain Aerospace Partnerships
Under the proactive leadership of Malaysia as the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Madrid (ACM), the Embassy of Malaysia led a high-level engagement programme at the Airbus Defence and Space National Headquarters in Getafe on 15 April 2026.
Led by H.E. Ambassador Haznah Md. Hashim, the delegation—which comprised fellow ASEAN Ambassadors and representatives—conducted site visits to the state-of-the-art facilities.
This strategic visit underscored Malaysia’s legacy as the first-ever export customer of the A400M Atlas—a platform that has transformed Malaysia's strategic airlift and HADR capabilities. The engagement also highlighted Malaysia’s standing as the premier regional Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and Training hub for Airbus Helicopters at Subang.
