MEETING WITH SECRETARY GENERAL OF CEOE
H.E. Ambassador Haznah Md Hashim held a meeting with Mr. José Alberto González-Ruiz, Secretary General of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), together with Ms. Marta Blanco Quesada, Director of the Department of International and Multilateral Organizations of CEOE, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen economic engagement between Malaysia and Spain.
The discussion focused on enhancing bilateral trade and investment cooperation, particularly in strategic sectors such as semiconductors, automotive, halal industry development, and commodities. Both sides exchanged views on opportunities for Spanish companies to expand partnerships and investments in Malaysia, leveraging Malaysia’s position as a gateway to the ASEAN market.
H.E. Ambassador also highlighted the importance of continued engagement between business communities in supporting progress towards the Malaysia–European Union Free Trade Agreement, which would further facilitate trade flows and create new opportunities for companies on both sides.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to deepen collaboration between Malaysia and Spain’s private sectors and to explore new avenues of cooperation for mutual economic benefit.
