MEETING WITH THE DIPLOMAT IN SPAIN
H.E. Ambassador Haznah Md Hashim met Mr Yago González, CEO of Prensamedia, and Ms Cristina Marcén, Director of The Diplomat in Spain, to explore potential collaboration in organising programmes focusing on economic, business, and cultural engagement between Malaysia and Spain. The Diplomat is an international current-affairs publication widely read within diplomatic, policy, and business circles for its coverage of Asia-Pacific political and economic developments. In Spain, the platform operates through local partners and contributors who engage diplomatic and business communities interested in Asia, serving as a useful platform to promote dialogue and initiatives related to economic, business, and cultural cooperation with Asian partners, including Malaysia.
Discussions covered opportunities to enhance awareness of Malaysia’s trade and investment potential, particularly in strategic sectors such as semiconductors and emerging industries. H.E. Ambassador also shared updates on preparations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, which attracted strong interest from The Diplomat in Spain, opening opportunities for future collaboration to promote Malaysia as both a tourism and business destination.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the Embassy to engage media and policy platforms in Spain to further strengthen Malaysia’s visibility and engagement with Spanish stakeholders.
