It is the time of the year again. December has come with joys of Christmas; gifts under the tree, turkey dinner with family, stockings hanging in the living room; t’is a season of great joy & sharing.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris was pleased to co-sponsor the annual Christmas luncheon with Malaysian Association in France (MAF), held at a restaurant "Le Chalet de Neuilly" on Sunday, 4 December 2016.

The luncheon was attended by over 50 MAF members including families and friends.  One family travelled from Tour (3 hours drive from Paris) to join us for this event with her 2 young boys.

All guests enjoyed a traditional French cuisine of salmon and chicken, not forgetting the winter specialty, "Cheese Fondue" in a log cabin ambience with skis decorating the walls of the restaurant.  MAF contributed curry puffs, pulut panggang & kuih muih providing the Malaysian touch, along with a Christmas pudding.

MAF was most honored to have Joseph, a music director from Kuala Lumpur on visit to Paris, to join in the celebration. All guests were mesmerized by his solo performance, "Amazing Grace" & "Ava Marie" by Schubert.

In keeping with MAF Christmas luncheon tradition, Santa Claus made a brief appearance to distribute gifts to ecstatic children and sweet goodies to the young and old.

MAF took the opportunity of the occasion to also organize a baby shower for a Malaysian student who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on 4 November 2016, to thank Mr Yuan (non Malaysian) who helped a Malaysian pregnant student stranded in Paris early October, and to celebrate the birthday of a lady member, who turned 70 this year.

The luncheon was a great success and held in a true spirit of Christmas with extended Malaysian family in Paris.
