Dr. Tadashi MATSUMOTO accompanied by Kwame FRIMPONG made a courtesy call on H.E. Dato’ Ibrahim Abdullah, Ambassador of Malaysia to France on 4 November 2016. The purpose of the call was to brief Ambassador about the upcoming launch of the synthesis report “Urban Green Growth in Dynamic Asia” in which Iskandar is one of the five (5) case studies.
The said report aims to explore ways to achieve green growth by examining ways to promote greening and competitiveness in a fast-growing economy, improving environmental performance in cities and urban quality of life, and increasing institutional capacities in green growth. The OECD is also currently preparing a separate green growth report focusing exclusively on Iskandar.
During the courtesy call, Ambassador also provided assurance Malaysia remains committed to fulfil our international commitments grounded on the universal recognition that sustainable development guided by green growth principles at its core must be people-centred in its objective, scope and focus. There is a need to ensure all of our population including those in small communities are provided with equal opportunity to face the future.
