The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris held a reception to celebrate the 62nd National Day of Malaysia on 27 September 2019 at Pavillon Royal, Paris. The event was graced by the presence of Senator Jacqueline Deromedi, President of the France-ASEAN Friendship Group in the Senate.


The reception was attended by over 200 guests which were made up of French officials, the Diplomatic Corps, International Organisations, prominent members of the society and the business captains.


The event commenced with the Negaraku and La Marseillaise played a group of Malaysian musicians led by Ms. Siew Luan, who played the violin. After a short speech delieved by the Ambassador - the attendees were marvelled by various dance performances by the National Department for Culture and Arts, Sarawak (JKKNS). The audience was also given the opportunity to witness various silat performances by Culture Silat, a Paris-based silat group led by the French. Delicious Malaysian dishes such as roti jala, char kway teow, murtabak, satay and kuih seri muka were made available to everyone who came. It came to no surprise when guests joined the que multiple times to savour our home-made satays.


The Embassy extends its appreciation to the Chamber of Commerce & Industry France Malaysia (CCIFM); Malaysia Palm Oil Council (MPOC); National Department for Culture and Arts, Sarawak (JKKNS), Culture Silat and many others who have helped in making the occasion a great success.
