REGISTRATION OF MALAYSIANS LIVING ABROAD
 

Malaysians living abroad are advised to register themselves at the nearest Malaysian Mission. The failure to do so may cause difficulties for the High Commission to provide assistance or protection in the event of emergencies, and may lead to the loss of citizenship under Article 25(2) of the Constitution of Malaysia.

 

Registering yourself enables the High Commission to get in touch with you during emergencies (natural disasters or any other circumstances) and to inform you about special events, for example, the Merdeka celebrations.

 

Registration of Malaysians living in the UK can be done by filling up the registration form downloadable from https://www.kln.gov.my/web/gbr_london/forms and returning the completed form to the High Commission either via e-mail lon.consular@kln.gov.my or post. No fees will be charged for this registration.

 

For short visits (less than three months), Malaysians visiting the UK are advised to provide the following details by telephone or email lon.consular@kln.gov.my to the High Commission:

a)      Name

b)      Passport Number

c)      Telephone number or email address for emergency communications

d)      Address of the place of stay (hotel, friend’s house, etc.)

e)      Date of arrival

f)       Expected date of departure
