APPOINTMENT OF NEW HEADS OF DIPLOMATIC MISSION OF MALAYSIA
His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim had presented the Letters of Credence to four new Heads of Diplomatic Mission of Malaysia during a ceremony held at Istana Negara today. The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan and Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Ahmad Rozian bin Abd Ghani. The newly appointed Heads of Diplomatic Mission are:
Dato’ Mohd Zamruni bin Khalid
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea
Dato’ Mohd Zamruni was born in Terengganu and earned his M.A. in International Relations from Institute d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in France. He was appointed as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1994. Before assuming this role, he was the Ambassador of Malaysia to France since 2021; Ambassador of Malaysia to Vietnam (2016-2019); and Consul General of Malaysia in New York, United States of America (2008-2011).
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he had served as the Director General of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) and the Deputy Director General, ASEAN Political-Security Community Division & ASEAN External Relations Division, ASEAN-Malaysia National Secretariat.
Datuk Eldeen Husaini bin Mohd Hashim
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to France
Datuk Eldeen Husaini hails from Kuala Lumpur and obtained his LLB from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom. He was appointed as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998. Prior to this assignment, he was the Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia since 2019 and Consul General of Malaysia in Mumbai, India (2014-2017).
Before his tenure in Mumbai, he had served at diplomatic missions of Malaysia in Canberra, Australia and Tokyo, Japan. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he held the position of Undersecretary of Southeast Asia Division.
Mr. Shaharuddin bin Onn
Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Cambodia
Mr. Shaharuddin was born in Perak. He attained his LLM from Universiti Malaya and LLB from the University of London, United Kingdom. He joined the Administrative and Diplomatic Service and was assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001. Before assuming this role, he was the Deputy Director General at the Department of Maritime Affairs since 2019.
He held the position of the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul, Republic of Korea, following assignments at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in New York, United States of America; Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland; and the Embassy of Malaysia in Havana, Cuba.
Mr. Aiyub bin Omar
High Commissioner-designate of Malaysia to the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Mr. Aiyub hails from Perak and graduated from the International Islamic University of Malaysia. He was appointed as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer and joined the public service in 2001. Prior to this appointment, he was the Consul General of Malaysia in Medan, Indonesia since 2019.
His previous overseas assignments were at the diplomatic missions of Malaysia in Islamabad, Pakistan and Madrid, Spain. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was the Director at the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) and Director at the Department of Policy Planning and Coordination.
