APPOINTMENT OF NEW HEADS OF MISSION OF MALAYSIA

 

Two (2) new Heads of Mission of Malaysia received their Letters of Credence from His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah in a ceremony held at Istana Negara on Thursday, 3 October 2019. The Ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah. The new Heads of Mission are:-

 

 

Mr. Akmal Che Mustafa

Ambassador-Designate of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Spain

 

Mr. Akmal Che Mustafa started his career as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996. He was the Undersecretary (Inspectorate) since 2018 prior to his appointment as the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Spain.

 

He previously served as Assistant Secretary (Africa and South Sahara) and Assistant Secretary (Protocol), from 1996 until 2000, prior to his first posting as Second Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Santiago, Chile from 2000 until 2005.

 

Mr. Akmal later served as Director (ASEAN) from 2005 until 2007, Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Bucharest, Romania from late 2007 until 2011 and Principal Assistant Secretary (Southeast Asia) from 2013 until 2014. He was also assigned to the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila, The Philippines from 2014 until early 2018 as Deputy Head of Mission.

 

 

Ms. Fenny Nuli

Ambassador-Designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Peru

 

Ms. Fenny Nuli started her career as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1997. She was the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Malaysia in Brussels, Belgium since 2016 prior to her appointment as the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Peru.

 

She previously served as Assistant Director (ASEAN) from 1997 to 2001, before being assigned as Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland from 2001 until 2002 and Second Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Warsaw, Poland from 2002 until 2005.

 

Ms. Fenny later returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Assistant Secretary (Finance) from 2005 to 2006 before being designated as Director (ASEAN) from 2006 until 2008. She had also served as Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, Thailand from 2009 until 2012, Principal Assistant Secretary (Multilateral Economic and Environment) from 2013 until 2015 and Undersecretary (International Cooperation and Development) from 2015 until 2016.
