Wisma Putra wishes to express its gratitude to the Ministry of Finance for the increased allocation on the Ministry's core business, upgrading of facilities and infrastructures as well as welfare of officers.

It is imperative to ensure active participation of the Ministry’s officials in meetings/official visits abroad, presentation of credentials to concurrently accredited countries by Heads of Mission, outreach and public diplomacy programmes, consular visits abroad, etc. In addition, the main focus is to ensure the effectiveness of service delivery through upgrading of infrastructures including procurement of assets and ICT equipment as well as maintenance of government’s properties abroad. The allocation is also expected to be used for the welfare and career development of officers through appropriate trainings including higher education opportunities.

The increment will enable Wisma Putra to enhance its roles and responsibilities in defending national interests, increasing Malaysia's involvement in international fora through active participation in international and regional organisations. These engagements are in line with the Foreign Policy Framework of the New Malaysia and its accompanying Plan of Action.
