URGENT NEEDS, LASTING SOLUTIONS”

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Mohamad bin Alamin will participate in the Cairo Ministerial Conference to Enhance the Humanitarian Response in Gaza “A Year Since the Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza: Urgent Needs, Lasting Solutions”, in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt on 2 December 2024.

The Ministerial Conference is co-convened by President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres. The Conference will bring together Member States of the United Nations, representatives of relevant United Nations agencies, other international and regional organisations, as well as non-governmental and civil society organisations to address the grave humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by the ongoing military operations of the Zionist Israeli regime.

The Deputy Foreign Minister will deliver Malaysia’s National Statement emphasising the urgent need for decisive global action, focusing on unimpeded humanitarian access, advocating for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and supporting peace efforts aimed at recognising the Palestinian State in accordance with pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He will also highlight Malaysia’s continued support and contributions to the Palestinian cause.

Malaysia’s participation in the conference reaffirms its steadfast commitment to the Palestinian struggle and efforts to collaborate with like-minded countries in advocating a lasting peace in the Middle East region and beyond.
