The Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia will be hosting a Closing and Certificate Presentation Ceremony for the participants of MTCP: Cultural Diplomacy Course 2019 and Cultural Diplomacy Lecture Series 2/2019 with the title “Cultural Diplomacy: Fostering Friendly Relations Through Food” on 8 November 2019.
IDFR with fundings from the Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) organised the Cultural Diplomacy Course from 29 October to 8 November 2019. The objectives of the course are:
Fifteen participants from Argentina, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Cuba, Lao PDR, Palestine, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste and Zimbabwe participated in the course. This course is an important platform for the participants to explore, network and exchange views and explore practical approaches and experiences in promoting integration through cultural diplomacy.
Together with the MTCP Closing and Certificate Presentation Ceremony, the Centre for Languages and Cultural Diplomacy, IDFR will be having its 8th Cultural Diplomacy Lecture Series. IDFR is honoured to have Dato’ Chef Ismail Ahmad, a renowned Malaysian Celebrity Chef, Director of Food Parcel to share his thoughts on Food and Diplomacy.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies, academia, representatives of think tanks, former members of the diplomatic corps and officials from the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) are expected to attend the event.
