EARTHQUAKE IN SOUTH COTABATO, THE PHILIPPINES
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia is monitoring developments following a 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Polomolok, South Cotabato, the Philippines on 15 December 2019. The epicenter of the earthquake is located at approximately 100km from Davao City.
2. According to local authorities, the earthquake has so far claimed three lives, and exact number of injured is still unknown. There has been no report of any Malaysians affected by the earthquake.
3. The Ministry wishes to convey the sympathies and condolences to the Government and the people of the Republic of the Philippines, in particular to those who have been affected by the earthquake. Malaysia stands in solidarity with the Philippines during this challenging time.
