The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be organizing the inaugural KLN Visitor’s Programme from 4 to 8 November 2019. This programme is intended to reinvigorate South-South Cooperation, as underlined in the Foreign Policy Framework of the New Malaysia. This programme is designed to highlight key policies, development goals and best practices of the Government. The programme entails visits by young leaders and interactions with Malaysian policy makers and the general public, in cultivating understanding and appreciation of developmental policies of the Government.


The theme of this year’s Visitor’s Programme is "Good Governance in New Malaysia". Five young leaders from Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam will participate in the programme. They will have engagements with Malaysian leaders and policy makers namely YB Minister of Foreign Affairs, YB Minister of Youth and Sports in his capacity as Youth Chief of the Alliance of Hope (Pakatan Harapan), Speaker of Dewan Rakyat, Caucus on Reform and Governance, Election Commission as well as National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Centre (GIACC). The finale would be a roundtable discussion on "Good Governance in New Malaysia" on 8 November 2019 organized by the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia.


The programme is expected to inculcate understanding and appreciation of Government’s policies on good governance in New Malaysia among young leaders and the general public in Malaysia including leaders from the public and private sectors, Members of Parliament and the civil societies.
