LATEST DEVELOPMENT IN THE DEATH OF MALAYSIAN STUDENT IN TAIWAN

 

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to inform that the Taiwanese authorities have confirmed the identity of the Malaysian student who was found dead near Alian District, Kaohsiung on 29 October 2020. The victim was a third year student at Chang Jung Christian University in Tainan City and was reported as missing on 28 October.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its deepest condolences to the victim's family for their loss.The Ministry, through the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre in Taipei, is working closely with local authorities to provide the necessary consular assistance to the parents of the victim, who are scheduled to arrive in Taipei today.

 

All Malaysian students in Taiwan are advised to be alert, vigilant and cautious of their personal safety. Malaysian students and citizens in Taiwan are also advised to register with the Malaysian Friendship and Trade Centre in Taipei.
