MISSILE ATTACKS LAUNCHED BY THE HOUTHI REBELS TOWARDS THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

MISSILE ATTACKS LAUNCHED BY THE HOUTHI REBELS TOWARDS THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA

Malaysia strongly condemns the attacks by the Houthi rebels towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 27 and 28 March 2020. The missiles launched by the Houthis were targeted against the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Riyadh and Jazan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was fortunate that these missiles were intercepted and no casualties were reported.

These attacks are indeed unacceptable and appalling, especially when the international community is galvanising concerted efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on the lives of hundreds of thousands of people around the world and on the global economy.

Malaysia calls on the Houthi militias to stop such provocative actions. Malaysia reiterates its strong support for the efforts to find a peaceful and lasting solution to the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
