OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA TO MALAYSIA

7 TO 8 JUNE 2022

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Dato’ Sri Saifuddin Abdullah will host the inaugural official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan from 7 to 8 June 2022.

During his visit, Prince Faisal will have an audience with His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah.

His Highness Prince Faisal is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Honourable Dato' Sri Saifuddin and His Highness Prince Faisal will hold a bilateral meeting to chart a way forward for the already strong Malaysia-Saudi Arabia relations. The two Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on the regional and international development of interest to the two countries.

His Highness Prince Faisal is also scheduled to have separate meetings with the Senior Minister of Defense, the Honourable Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and the Senior Minister of International Trade and Investment, the Honourable Dato' Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

Malaysia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been long-standing partners. Cooperation between the two countries continues to expand in various fields, including in COVID-19 response and post-pandemic recovery.

Saudi Arabia is Malaysia’s second-largest trading partner and the largest source of imports among West Asian countries. Total Malaysia-Saudi Arabia trade in 2021 was valued at RM17.56 billion (USD4.23 billion).
