OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS
OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKIYE TO MALAYSIA

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, YB Dato’ Sri Saifuddin Abdullah will host the inaugural official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu from 3 to 4 August 2022.
This visit serves as a follow-up to YAB Prime Minister’s Official Visit to the Republic of Türkiye last month, as well as a lead up preparation for the State Visit by His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah to the Republic of Türkiye.
YB Dato’ Sri Saifuddin Abdullah and His Excellency Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will hold a bilateral meeting to chart a way forward on many issues of mutual interest ever since the relations between Malaysia and Türkiye were elevated to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Apart from strengthening the current cooperation, both countries would explore new potential areas of collaboration such as food security, Islamic digital banking, e-commerce, defense industry, petroleum and gas, and renewable energy. The two Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on the various regional and international development of interest during the bilateral discussion.
During the visit, His Excellency Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
His Excellency Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is also scheduled to have a separate meeting with the Senior Minister of Defense, YB Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
Türkiye is Malaysia's third largest trading partner and the largest export destination among West Asian countries. Malaysia-Türkiye trade volume in 2021 was worth more than USD4.09 billion (RM16.97 billion).
