OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO TO MALAYSIA

1 – 4 MAY 2025

President of the Republic of Kosovo Dr. Vjosa Osmani Sadriu will undertake an official visit to Malaysia from 1 to 4 May 2025. This marks her inaugural visit to Malaysia since assuming office on 4 April 2021. The President will be accompanied by senior officials in the Presidential Cabinet.

President Osmani Sadriu will be accorded an official welcoming ceremony at Perdana Putra Complex in Putrajaya, followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Discussions will centre on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges. Both leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional and international matters of mutual interest, including Malaysia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025. In honour of President Osmani Sadriu and her delegation, the Prime Minister will host an official luncheon at the Seri Perdana Complex.

Malaysia officially recognised the Republic of Kosovo on 30 October 2008, becoming one of the first countries in Asia to do so. Diplomatic relations were formally established on 18 March 2011.

In 2024, total bilateral trade reached RM28.55 million, with Malaysia’s export to Kosovo valued at RM25.92 million, and import at RM2.63 million. Key Malaysian exports include palm oil, electrical and electronic products, and manufactured goods, while imports from Kosovo mainly consist of raw materials and semi-precious stones.
