OFFICIAL VISIT OF MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF MALAYSIA,
DATO’ SAIFUDDIN ABDULLAH TO QATAR TO ATTEND
THE 16TH ASIA COOPERATION DIALOGUE (ACD) MINISTERIAL MEETING,
DOHA, QATAR, 1-2 MAY 2019
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah, will lead the Malaysian delegation to the 16th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting which will be held in Doha, Qatar on 1 May 2019. He will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
With the theme “Partners for Progress”, ACD Ministers will deliberate on regional issues of mutual concern, and also discuss on measures that could be undertaken to strengthen the ACD platform, as well as the existing cooperation between ACD Member Countries.
The 16th ACD Ministerial Meeting is expected to adopt the Doha Declaration which underlines the ACD Member Countries’ commitment for closer collaboration, as well as the aspiration for establishing the Asian Community by the year 2030.
As a Co-Prime Mover in Education and Human Resource Development pillar, Malaysia is proud to announce the launch of the ACD-MBA programme by the Asia e University (AeU) during the meeting. The meeting will also witness the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on the ACD-MBA Participating Universities between AeU and six (6) other universities from ACD Member Countries.
While attending the 16th ACD, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will also undertake an official visit to Qatar until 2 May 2019. The visit will provide an opportunity for the Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss matters of common interest on bilateral cooperation, regional and international issues during a series of meetings with Qatari leaders. Other official programmes include a visit to Al Jazeera Media Network. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is also scheduled to meet the Malaysian diaspora in Qatar on 1 May 2019.
