SHOOTINGS AND EXPLOSIONS AT THE NARATHIWAT PROVINCE,
SOUTHERN THAILAND
Following a series of explosions in the Songkhla Province on 26 December 2018, it has been reported that there have been shootings and explosions in different parts of the Narathiwat Province, namely in Ranget, Chanek, Sisakon and Tak Bai districts on 29 December 2018 beginning at approximately 6.30 pm local time.
No Malaysians were involved in these incidents.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to advise Malaysians travelling to Thailand or those residing in Thailand to remain vigilant and to exercise caution at all times.
They are also encouraged to register themselves with the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok or the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla. The registration can be done either by email or fax to the contacts as below:
