STATE VISIT OF

HER MAJESTY SERI PADUKA BAGINDA THE RAJA PERMAISURI AGONG TUNKU HAJAH AZIZAH AMINAH MAIMUNAH ISKANDARIAH BINTI ALMARHUM AL-MUTAWAKKIL ALALLAH SULTAN ISKANDAR AL-HAJ TO NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah will be undertaking a State Visit to Negara Brunei Darussalam on 18 – 20 August 2019. This will be His Majesty’s first State Visit after being installed as the XVI Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 30 July 2019.
His Majesty will be accompanied by Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj. Their Majesties’ delegation will include Minister of Foreign Affairs, YB Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah as Minister in Attendance, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Istana Negara and the Prime Minister’s Department.
The programmes arranged for the State Visit will include State Welcoming Ceremony, an Audience and a Royal Banquet hosted by Sultan and the Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, at Istana Nurul Iman, Bandar Seri Begawan.
During the Audience, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah has consented to confer the Royal Family Order of the Crown of Brunei or Darjah Kerabat Mahkota Brunei (D.K.M.B.), Brunei Darussalam's highest honour to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Most Esteemed Family Order of Brunei or Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati (D.K.) to Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong. Meanwhile, His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has also consented to confer the Most Exalted Order of the Crown of the Realm or Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara (D.M.N.) to Her Majesty Paduka Seri Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Binti Almarhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam.
Their Majesties have also consented to attend a Dinner with Malaysian diaspora in Negara Brunei Darussalam and are scheduled to visit historical sites and Government Departments in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The State Visit is a special visit that will further strengthen the existing close relationship between the two countries, which shares a common deep-rooted Islamic values and Malay cultures.
The State Visit is also a reminiscence of the historic visit by His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah’s father, Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar, who was the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia to undertake a State Visit to Negara Brunei Darussalam immediately after Negara Brunei Darussalam gained its independence in 1984.
