WORKING VISIT OF THE DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

THE HONOURABLE DATUK MOHAMAD BIN ALAMIN

TO THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN,

 22 – 25 DECEMBER 2023

 

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs the Honourable Datuk Mohamad bin Alamin will undertake a Working Visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran from 22 to 25 December 2023 to attend the High-Level Conference on the Issue of Palestine. The Honourable Deputy Foreign Minister will be accompanied by a senior official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The High-Level Conference on the Issue of Palestine, which is hosted by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran His Excellency Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, will be attended by several member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and non-OIC member countries. The Conference, which is in solidarity with Palestine, aims to discuss challenges and strategies for a long-term solution to the ongoing conflict in Gaza as well as explore mechanisms to effectively channel humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

The Honourable Deputy Foreign Minister will highlight, among others, Malaysia’s firm position on the issue of Palestine, including urging the Zionist regime to immediately cease genocidal acts against the Palestinians in Gaza, and the country’s continuous efforts in providing humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
