WORKING VISIT OF YB DATO’ KAMARUDIN JAFFAR DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF MALAYSIA TO THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN AND THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN FROM 15 – 23 JANUARY 2022

WORKING VISIT OF YB DATO’ KAMARUDIN JAFFAR DEPUTY MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF MALAYSIA TO THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN AND THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN FROM 15 – 23 JANUARY 2022

 

 

YB Dato’ Kamarudin Jaffar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia will undertake working visits to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Azerbaijan from 15 to 23 January 2022. YB Deputy Minister will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs .

 

During the visit to Amman, YB Dato’ Kamarudin Jaffar is scheduled to hold meetings with his counterpart from Jordan, as well as his Palestinian counterpart. In Baku, YB Deputy Minister is scheduled to call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. The visits will focus on initiatives to strengthen bilateral cooperation, in particular, increasing economic and trade ties, as well as people to people ties, and post COVID-19 pandemic cooperation.

 

The visits reflect Malaysia’s longstanding and close ties with Jorda n and Azerbaijan. Both countries are important partners for Malaysia. Total bilateral trade between Malaysia and Jordan for the period of January to October 2021 amounted to RM924.8 million, while total bilateral trade between Malaysia and Azerbaijan for the same period amounted to RM120.52 million.

 

The working visits will be undertaken in full compliance with the COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) put in place by the authorities of Malaysia and the two respective countries.
