APPOINTMENT OF NEW HEADS OF MISSION OF MALAYSIA

 

Nine new Heads of Mission of Malaysia received their Letters of Credence from His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V, in a ceremony held at Istana Negara on Monday, 6 November 2017. The Ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, YB Datuk Ir. Dr. Haji Hamim Samuri. The new Heads of Mission are:

 

Ambassador Jojie Samuel A/L MC Samuel

Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Thailand

 

Ambassador Jojie Samuel A/L MC Samuel started his service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992. He was the Director General of ASEAN-Malaysia National Secretariat since 2016 prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Thailand.

 

He was previously the Ambassador of Malaysia to Cuba from 2011 to 2014, Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Vienna, Austria from 2005 to 2009 and Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Ankara, Turkey from 2002 to 2005.

 

Ambassador Jojie Samuel A/L MC Samuel had also served as First Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Baghdad, Iraq from 1998 to 1999 and as Second Secretary at the High Commission of Malaysia in Ottawa, Canada from 1995 to 1998.

 

Dato’ Ganeson A/L Sivagurunathan

Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Austria

Dato’ Ganeson A/L Sivagurunathan joined the Malaysian Public Service in 1994. He was the Undersecretary of East Asia Division since 2015 prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Austria.

 

He was previously the Ambassador of Malaysia to Chile from 2011 to 2015, Undersecretary of Multilateral Political Division from 2008 to 2011 and Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in New York from 2004 to 2008.

 

Dato’ Ganeson had also served as Second Secretary at the High Commission of Malaysia in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea from 1996 to 2000.

 

Ambassador Sharrina Binti Abdullah

Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Swiss Confederation

 

Ambassador Sharrina Binti Abdullah joined the Malaysian Public Service in 1994. She was the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Senegal since 2014 prior to her appointment as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Swiss Confederation.

 

She was previously the Undersecretary of South Central Asia Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2011 to 2014 and Undersecretary (Research) at the Department of Research, Treaty and International Law of the Ministry from 2009 to 2011.

 

Ambassador Sharrina Binti Abdullah had also served as Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Paris from 2006 to 2009 and as Second Secretary at the High Commission of Malaysia in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from 1996 to 2000.

 

Mr. Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino Bin Anthony

Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Italy

 

Mr. Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino Bin Anthony joined the Malaysian Public Service in 1996. He was the Special Officer to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Malaysia since 2007 prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Italy.

 

He was previously the ChargĂ© d'Affaires at the High Commission of Malaysia in Abuja, Nigeria from 2005 to 2007 and Second Secretary at the High Commission of Malaysia in London, United Kingdom from 2002 to 2005.

 

Mr. Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino had also served as Assistant Secretary of South East Asia Division from 2000 to 2002.

 

Dato’ Ahmad Fadil Bin Shamsuddin

Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the State of Qatar

 

Dato’ Ahmad Fadil Bin Shamsuddin joined the Malaysian Public Service in 1995. He was the Ambassador of Malaysia to Poland since 2016 prior to his appointment as Ambassador of Malaysia to the State of Qatar.

 

He was previously the Consul General of Malaysia in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 2010 to 2016, Counsellor at the High Commission of Malaysia in Canberra, Australia from 2007 to 2010 and Special Officer to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Malaysia from 2006 to 2007.

 

Dato’ Ahmad Fadil had also served as Second Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Havana, Cuba from 2001 to 2004 and as Second Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Santiago, Chile from 1998 to 2001.

 

Mr. Ikram Bin Mohd Ibrahim

High Commissioner-designate of Malaysia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

 

Mr. Ikram Bin Mohd Ibrahim started his service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996. He was the Undersecretary of Multilateral Security Division since 2015 prior to his appointment as High Commissioner of Malaysia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

 

He was previously the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Malaysia in Washington DC from 2013 to 2015 and Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Brussels, Belgium from 2010 to 2013.

 

Mr. Ikram had also served as Second Secretary and subsequently First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in New York from 2003 to 2007.

 

Dr. Shazelina Binti Zainul Abidin

Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Republic of Senegal

 

Dr. Shazelina Binti Zainul Abidin started her service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996. She was the Deputy Director General of Department of Policy Planning and Coordination since 2017 prior to her appointment as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Senegal.

 

She was previously the Undersecretary of Communications and Public Diplomacy Division from 2016 to 2017 and Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in New York, United States of America from 2008 to 2011.

 

Dr. Shazelina had also served as Second Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Washington DC from 2001 to 2002.

 

Mrs. Astanah Banu Binti Shri Abdul Aziz

Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Morocco

 

Mrs. Astanah Banu Binti Shri Abdul Aziz joined the Malaysian Public Service in 1996. She was the Deputy Director General of ASEAN-Malaysia National Secretariat since 2014 prior to her appointment as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Morocco.

 

She was previously the Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Paris, France from 2009 to 2012 and Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 2007 to 2009.

 

Mrs. Astanah Banu Binti Shri Abdul Aziz had also served as Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations in New York, United States of America from 2001 to 2005.

 

Mrs. Nur Izzah Wong Mee Choo

High Commissioner-designate of Malaysia to New Zealand

 

Mrs. Nur Izzah Wong Mee Choo joined the Malaysian Public Service in 1996. She was the Undersecretary of Inspectorate Division since 2014 prior to her appointment as High Commissioner of Malaysia to New Zealand.

 

She was previously the Principal Assistant Secretary of Department of Multilateral Affairs from 2004 to 2007 and Second Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia in Beijing, People’s Republic of China from 2000 to 2004.

 

Mrs. Nur Izzah Wong Mee Choo had also served as Assistant Director of ASEAN from 1997 to 1999.
